Working in collaboration with Rookhope, St John’s Chapel and Wearhead Primary Schools
Welcome to Forest of Teesdale Primary School
Working together to achieve for all

Welcome

Welcome to Forest of Teesdale Primary School.  We are a very small primary school,  located in Teesdale in the North Pennines.    We federated with Rookhope, St John’s Chapel and Wearhead Primary Schools in January 2021 as the Upper Durham Dales Federation and have recently begun our journey to work closely with our partner schools to provide an exciting, broad and balanced curriculum for our pupils. Team work, collaborative and outdoor learning are key elements of our school ethos. When the weather permits (and pre-Covid), we often work together with the other schools on the St John’s Chapel site on Thursday and Friday.  This provides opportunities for the children to work with their peers and for staff to deliver aspects of the curriculum, which are targeted at specific year groups.  It also enables the children to access extra curricular provision such as peripatetic music lessons and lunchtime football coaching.

We aim to inspire our children and create a life-long love of learning. We expect excellent behaviour, kindness, respect and good manners from our children and in return, we strive to give every child in our care an excellent education.  At Forest of Teesdale Primary School, we value parental involvement and we take every opportunity to engage with our families and the wider community.

If you would like to find out more about our school, please get in touch.

Mrs Sarah Hodgkinson
Executive Headteacher
